What keeps getting stuck?Walk me through the task, who handles it, and the most frustrating step.For example: When a job is finished, our office copies the notes into an invoice. We chase the technician for missing details before the manager can approve it.
Where does the work happen?Name the software, inboxes, spreadsheets, or paper involved.For example: Job notes in email, hours in a spreadsheet, invoices in QuickBooks.

A few fair questions.

Why is it free, and what would a build cost?

I sell the build, so I can afford to give away the plan. I built this inside my own company first: B:Side Capital, an SBA lender, where the systems my team and I built handle fourteen jobs with a person approving everything that goes out. Reading real workflows in owners' own words teaches me more than any survey, and I'd rather pay for that by doing real work for you than by buying an ad you'd scroll past. And it saves us both a bad meeting. If you take the plan and never call, that's a fair trade.

Builds run $18,000 to $60,000, fixed in writing after scoping. The Blueprint, a map of your whole operation with every workflow costed and ranked, runs $3,500 to $8,500 and credits 100% toward a build. The plan will say if your problem is the wrong size for either.

How is my plan made and my information handled?

Drafted with the same tools we build for clients, then read, rewritten where it needs it, and signed by me. The verdict, where the friction is, where it goes wrong, and what would change my answer are mine, by hand.

One plan per business per quarter. No call attached. I'll write once, a week later to ask if I got it right, once more at 30 days if the verdict was fix it first or not yet, then nothing unless you write. What you send is read by a person; names are replaced with placeholders before the drafting tool sees it, and the drafting service processes the redacted text. Your workflow details are stored in Main & Machine's systems and CRM and removed when you ask. What we keep after that is the pattern of which workflows come up, with nothing that identifies you. Main & Machine is a separate company from B:Side Capital. Nothing you tell me here is seen by anyone at B:Side or touches any credit file.

Five questions to ask any vendor, including us

What does a person approve before anything goes out?: Every send, file, post, or payment. Nothing sends, files, posts, or pays until a person approves it, and the plan names who that person is by role.
What system does it write to, and can we turn it off?: The plan lists each system by name and says whether the build reads from it or writes to it. Anything that writes can be switched off by your people without calling us.
Where does our customer information go, and who can see it?: The plan names every system it touches, read versus write. If data would have to leave systems you control, the plan says so and the price reflects keeping it inside.
What happens the first time it is wrong?: For the first two weeks it drafts and sends nothing. A person sees every draft, and section 5 names the failures we plan for.
What does it cost, in writing, before you start?: A range now from the public price list, a fixed number in writing after scoping, and scoping happens before you sign anything.
